Manager Reveals Arsenal Player Will Secure Permanent £3.5m Summer Switch

Ospina Set To Sign For Arsenal!

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that David Ospina will make his move to the Serie A side permanent in the summer.

The Colombian international has expressed concern in recent days that he may not play enough games for the Partenopei to trigger a €4m (£3.5m) transfer.

However, speaking to the Italian media, Ancelotti has revealed that Napoli will sign Ospina regardless of the number of matches he plays in the remainder of the campaign:

“He will remain [at Napoli] next year, regardless of the matches that he will do or not [this season].”

The 30-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Italian club this season, including the 0-0 draw against Torino yesterday.

Ospina does have a battle on his hands to keep his place, though, with Orestis Karnezis and Alex Meret also vying for the number one jersey.

With Petr Cech retiring in the summer, the Colombian could have returned to the Gunners to be Bernd Leno’s understudy, but it looks likely that Napoli will take up their option to purchase the keeper outright.
