Major Premier League Rival Could Hijack Arsenal’s Attempts To Secure 52M January Transfer

Chelsea are considering making their own move for Arsenal transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Blues are said to have included the Ukrainian international on a list of options as they look to strengthen their forward line ahead of the January transfer window.

Up until now, Mikel Arteta’s side have been labelled as favourites for Mudryk’s signature. Other teams, including Manchester United, have been mentioned as potential suitors but the Gunners are the team believed to have made the most effort to secure his services.

Talks with the 21-year-old’s club, Shakhtar Donetsk, are thought to have already taken place, but the two sides have yet to agree a transfer fee. Publicly, the winger’s asking price is €100m (£86m) but some journalists claim he will be sold for around €60m (£52m).

Whether Chelsea will make a bold play by outbidding Arsenal for Mudryk, we shall have to wait and see.
