Lukasz Fabianski Willing To Stay If Given Contract Offer

Lukasz Fabianski Willing To Stay If Given Contract Offer

Lukasz Fabianski was Wenger’s first choice in Arsenal’s goal a few years back. It looks like he might be returning as a first team regular after Wojciech Szczesny seems to have slightly fallen out of favour despite recently being recalled to the first team after Fabianski’s injury. With massive cash flow coming the Gunners’ way, several transfer rumors have emerged. A lot of valuable players have been linked to the Emirates and three of those names happen to be some of the best goalkeepers in the world. Casillas, Valdes and Reina all appear to be on Wenger’s transfer wish-list if rumors are to be believed. If one of them will end up playing for Arsenal it is very unlikely that Lukasz Fabianski will have a chance to become the Frenchman’s first choice.

According to London Evening Standard, in recent comments the Polish goalkeeper spoke about his future with the Gunners and admitted that he will not want to continue being used only a few times during an entire football season. The 28 year old is ready to talk to Wenger and decide if he will sign a new contract. His current agreement is about to expire at the end of this season.

Even though he has managed to impress after being benched for a really long time, Lukasz Fabianski is not yet sure if he will be able to keep his place within the first eleven. Arsenal signed him in 2007 and gave him a long-term deal in 2009, but he has never managed to become a real team regular.

It is mostly up to Wenger according to Lukasz Fabianski. If the Frenchman decides to offer enough support, the Polish goalkeeper will probably sign a new deal if one will be offered to him. With his agreement expiring, it is very likely that the Gunners will keep Szczesny and let Fabianski go if this season is anything to go by. If you believe what Wenger says then he has just been giving the “tired” Szczesny a rest and he still believes n him and since he has played the most games, you would have to say he is the current number one. So if Fabianski gets a new deal, Wenger must think he can offer the Polish keeper decent competition.
