Lineker Says He Has “Always Rated” Arsenal Star Who Is Expected To Leave The Club In The Near Future

BBC presenter Gary Lineker has praised Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette after his last gasp equaliser against Crystal Palace last night.

The Frenchman came on as a substitute with 25 minutes remaining at the Emirates, and Lineker says he doesn’t know why the forward isn’t given more game time by manager Mikel Arteta:

There are a couple of reasons why Lacazette has found himself out of the team recently. The emergence of players such as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe means Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been moved into more central areas.

With the Gabonese international scoring goals again as well, it means there is little room for Lacazette to get into the starting lineup on a regular basis.

Probably the more important factor, though, is the 30-year-old’s contract situation. His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and he could be sold in January, with the likes of Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan believed to be interested in securing his signature.
