Lineker Delivers Damning Assessment Of Arsenal’s Season

BBC presenter Gary Lineker took to Twitter after Arsenal’s disappointing draw against Crystal Palace to deliver his assessment of this current Gunners team.

The 0-0 stalemate leaves Mikel Arteta’s side 11th in the table, with the Eagles one point behind in 13th, and Lineker says it looks like both teams are destined to finish midtable:

There was a great deal of hope following Arsenal’s recent performances. The three wins against Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom looked to have got their campaign back on track, but they were decidedly flat last night.

One key absentee was Kieran Tierney, who picked up an injury prior to the game, but the Gunners should not be having to rely on a left-back to provide the inspiration going forward.

There was enough on that pitch yesterday to break the deadlock but the lack of creativity was symptomatic of the whole season. Unless that changes, Lineker’s theory that Arsenal are a midtable team will be proved correct.
