Ligue One Star Pepe Admits It’s “Nice” To Be Linked With Arsenal Switch

Lille winger Nicolas Pepe has spoken out about his future at the Ligue One side.

The Ivorian international has been in excellent form at the start of the season and has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in recent months.

When asked about moving to one of these clubs by a French TV show at the weekend, he said:

“A preference between Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Monaco and Arsenal? They are all big clubs, but I’m not aware of anything. It’s nice. I have to keep working to knock on the door of these clubs, but it’s encouraging.”

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in Pepe, while Manchester City have made an enquiry about the 23-year-old, according to reports in the UK.

So far this season for Lille, the midfielder has scored eight goals and contributed seven assists in 13 appearances, helping his side to third in the table.

However, despite scoring against top of the table Paris Saint-Germain on Friday night, he was unable to stop his side slipping to a 2-1 defeat. They are now 11 points behind the Parisians after 12 games.
