Ligue One Star Opens Door To £30m Summer Switch To Arsenal

Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes has said he is keen on playing in Premier League, amid reports of interest from Arsenal.

It was claimed that the Gunners made a move for the Brazilian during the January transfer window only to have an approach knocked back. However, when asked about a potential switch to the London club, the 22-year-old said:

“Maybe I don’t know, but I would love to play in the Premier League.”

Gabriel is reportedly valued at £30m by Lille, but Arsenal will face competition from a number of other clubs for his signature, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Everton also said to be keen on the centre-back.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has already brought in one centre back, Pablo Mari, last month, and with William Saliba also arriving from Saint-Etienne in the summer, it looks like there will be a mass overhaul of the club’s defence.

Many supporters will think that is long overdue, considering their poor defensive record in recent seasons. They’ve already conceded 34 goals in 25 league games this campaign.
