Lavezzi Should Be Wenger’s Number One Target In January!

Wenger has been a man on a mission this season. After years of frustration, his young side have finally matured. For the first time in quite a few summers, the club did not lose any of their star players, but instead acquired one in the form of Mesut Ozil in a club-record deal.

With the club expected to be in the title hunt at least till January (as doubts still creep whether they can last the distance), Wenger needs some reinforcements in attack if he wants to prove his critics wrong.

Olivier Giroud, as already highlighted by his teammates, is burning out and will not be able to handle the workload of lone striker all by himself. Then there’s Nicklas Bendtner. Harry Redknapp’s missus can do better than him.

It should come as no surprise to an Arsenal faithful that Wenger is scouting strikers to come in a have an impact immediately. He tried to sign Liverpool forward Luis Suarez in the summer, and he may go for him again, but the Reds will definitely not sell as they too are in a great position just two points behind Arsenal in second position.

Christain Benteke, Fernando Llorente, Karim Benzema have all been linked with a switch to Emirates in January but Wenger would be wise to know that none of these three supreme footballers actually fits into his style of play.

He wants Luis Suarez but the one who he needs is Lavezzi, who has apparently grown frustrated at his lack of playing time due to the arrival of his former teammate Edison Cavani. The 28-year-old is at his peak and his physical stature should allow him to seamlessly fit in the Premier League.

Available at a cut-price £15 million, he could be the one that could make the difference for Arsenal. He would provide that different option from the bench, and occasionally as a starter, due to his trickery and ability to take on defenders, quite similar to Suarez.
