Latest Report Disputes Claim That Arsenal Have Made Contact Over Signing Brazilian Ace

Arsenal have not been in contact with Barcelona over signing Philippe Coutinho on loan, according to Mundo Deportivo. There had been rumours circulating that the Gunners could make an audacious move for the former Liverpool midfielder before deadline day, but the Catalan newspaper disputes those claims.

Mundo Deportivo contacted Coutinho’s agents and its sources at the Gunners, but both denied any deal was being considered. They do say that Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have registered an interest in the Brazilian international but no Premier League club has made a formal bid.

Coutinho is apparently not open to leaving Barca on loan before the transfer window shuts, and it appears the only realistic possibility is a permanent move to Paris-Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old could be offered in a bid to sign Neymar, but as things stand PSG don’t appear to be interested in taking players in any deal to sell their star player.
