Latest Arsenal Injury Report: Updates On Partey, Martinelli And Luiz

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he does not know whether Thomas Partey will be fit for the North London derby at the weekend.

The Ghanaian international has been sidelined since the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa due to a thigh strain but the player will need to undergo another scan to assess whether the injury has healed or whether he needs more rehabilitation.

There is some better news on Gabriel Martinelli, though. The Brazilian forward is aiming to take part in Under 23 matches before the end of the month as he steps up his comeback from knee surgery.

David Luiz won’t be available for the Europa League group game against Rapid Vienna as the centre-back requires more time to heal from a head injury he sustained in a challenge with Wolves’ Raul Jimenez last weekend. It is not known whether he’ll be fit to face Spurs on Sunday.

Pablo Mari played 45 minutes for the Under 23s against Derby on Friday night as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury and he should be available for the senior side very soon. Sead Kolasinac is back in contention for the first team after a series of negative tests for the virus.
