Latest Arsenal Injury Report: Updates On Gabriel, Nketiah, Partey And Holding

Arsenal centre-back Gabriel is expected to be sidelined for several weeks after picking up a knee injury.

The 23-year-old sustained the issue whilst away with Brazil’s Under 23 team at the Olympics last month, and he is now unlikely to play before the first international break in September.

Eddie Nketiah is predicted to be out for a month after he bruised his right ankle in the friendly defeat to Chelsea at the Emirates ten days ago.

Thomas Partey coincidentally picked up a similar problem during the same match, although the Gunners’ medical staff are expecting the Ghanaian international to be back within three weeks, so he could return before the end of August.

Rob Holding was absent for the 1-0 loss to Tottenham at the weekend, but manager Mikel Arteta did not go into great detail about his fitness issue. It is hoped that the defender has only picked up a knock and will be ready to face Brentford in the season opener on Friday.
