Latest Arsenal Injury Report: Ornstein Issues Promising Update On Kieran Tierney

Scans on Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney’s lower leg have shown no signs of a problem and the Gunners hope that the Scottish international will be back in action very soon, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

The 23-year-old has missed the last five games with what has been described as “discomfort” but the club are hoping that the issue is the result of fatigue, with the defender able to return to training without any concerns.

Ornstein has confirmed that Arsenal are seeking cover for Tierney when the summer transfer window opens but the likes of Cedric, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka will be used as backup options until then.

Thomas Partey is Gunners boss Mikel Arteta’s only other fitness concern. The Ghanaian international had to be substituted with 15 minutes to go in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend.

It was confirmed after the game that it is another thigh muscle injury and there is currently no return date for the midfielder.
