Latest Arsenal Injury News: Updates On Partey, Gabriel, Luiz, Willian And Martinelli

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is not expected to play any part in the Gunners’ next two games against Brighton or West Brom. Manager Mikel Arteta has revealed the 27-year-old is not back in full training after a thigh injury and still needs more time to recover his fitness.

Three players were surprise omissions from the matchday squad for the win over Chelsea yesterday. It has been confirmed that Gabriel missed the derby after picking up the virus, with it being suggested that he’ll miss the next three games. A return in mid-January is, therefore, likely.

Both Willian and David Luiz are also self-isolating. Both have picked up illnesses but neither have returned a positive test for the virus. As a precaution, both players will stay away from the first-team squad until they are given the all-clear to return.

Gabriel Martinelli did pick up another knock in the Chelsea victory, and he was substituted on 71 minutes at the Emirates, but there was no indication that he will be missing for the matches over the next week.
