Latest Arsenal Injury News: Updates On Luiz, Sokratis And Smith Rowe

Arsenal will be without David Luiz for the game against Fulham after the Brazilian sustained a neck injury. The defender is now undergoing treatment but no timeframe has been given for his return.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos has picked up a calf strain and is expected to return to full training next week, but it means the Gunners have just three fit centre-backs. Pablo Mari is only expected to return to full fitness later this month, following an ankle problem, while Shkodran Mustafi is likely to make his comeback in October after a hamstring injury.

Calum Chambers (knee) could also be back in an Arsenal shirt again next month but Gabriel Martinelli’s recovery from his own knee issue is expected to keep him out until near the end of the year.

Emile Smith Rowe’s absence from training has now also been explained, with the 20-year-old having sustained a shoulder injury. He is currently in a protective sling but should be back in training relatively soon.
