Barcelona have joined Arsenal and Manchester City in pursuing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, according to reports in France.

The Catalan club are believed to have already contacted the Frenchman’s agent ahead of a possible summer move.

It is believed Aouar has been on Arsenal’s radar for quite a while, with the midfielder being eyed to replace the Juventus bound Aaron Ramsey.

However, the France international could well be tempted by a move to Barca with the 20-year-old having been a keen admirer of both Andres Iniesta and Xavi when he was younger.

Aouar actually faced the La Liga champions on Tuesday night as Lyon held their Catalan opponents to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League tie.

The playmaker has been in excellent form for his club this campaign, having scored six goals and contributed five assists in 34 appearances.

He will likely cost a significant amount after signing a new five-year contract with Lyon back in July.
