Kroenke “Focused” On Champions League Glory At Arsenal

Arsenal director and son of the owner Stan, Josh Kroenke, has set his sights on winning the Champions League final.

One of the Kroenke family’s other teams, the Los Angeles Rams, will be competing in the Super Bowl this weekend and speaking in an interview, Kroenke likened it to the Gunners lifting Europe’s premier competition:

“The only thing on a par with the Super Bowl is Arsenal making the Champions League final. It is something we are very focused on.”

“I have been telling my friends all week the Super Bowl is the biggest spectacle that we have here and the Champions League is something in Europe that we strive for and we look forward to being a part of in the future.”

With Arsenal currently competing in the Europa League and fighting hard for a top-four finish, the dream is looking quite far off at the moment.

The London club will have to do much more in the transfer market and match the investment of the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea if they want to return to the summit of English football.

They signed just one player on loan during January, with the Gunners said to be waiting until the summer before making more substantial changes to the squad.

Whether the lack of new recruits will hamper their top four ambitions, we shall have to wait and see.
