Ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown thinks the Gunners have found a real gem in Dani Ceballos. The 23-year-old put in a man of the match display against Burnley in the 2-1 win on Saturday.
The TV pundit believes that if the Spanish international can replicate his form away from home, his former club could really have a special player on their hands:
“He looks a good prospect, certainly at home. If he can produce that away from home, then Arsenal really will have all their prayers answered this season.”
“I think it’s a good while since we saw a debut that good from an Arsenal player. I think he’s excellent, a really good addition to the group.”
Arsenal have been looking for a player like Ceballos since the departure of Santi Cazorla, and while it is too early to make a judgement on whether he will be a success, the early signs are very promising.
Keown won’t have to wait long to find out whether the midfielder can cut it away from home in a big match. The Gunners face Liverpool at Anfield next Saturday in what will be a stern test for Unai Emery’s side.
Ceballos will certainly know what the Premier League is all about following the encounter this weekend.
