‘Keeping A Watchful Eye…’ Report Claims Arsenal Are Already Looking At Signing 34M Alternative To Raphinha

Arsenal are “keeping a watchful eye” on Serge Gnabry’s situation at Bayern Munich, according to 90min.com.

The website claim that the German international is being considered as a target if, as expected, the Gunners fail to sign Raphinha from Leeds.

Gnabry has just one year remaining on his contract at Bayern but he has yet to agree to an extension. It means his club could be open to selling him before the summer transfer window closes.

A €40m (£34m) asking price has been mentioned, although a lot may depend on the competition for the 26-year-old’s signature. Other clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, have also been keeping close tabs on the player but Arsenal will feel that they have a good chance of securing his services.

Gnabry has previously labelled the Gunners as “the favourite” if he were ever to return to England. However, his salary demands, and the fact that Mikel Arteta’s side are not in the Champions League, may still count against a switch back to the Emirates.
