‘Last Season He Was Poor’ Outspoken Pundit Names Arsenal Player As WORST Signing Of The Season

Loudmouth pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has named Arsenal star Kai Havertz as his pick for the worst Premier League signing of the season on TalkSPORT.

He aimed criticism at Havertz’s lofty price tag of £65 million, saying for a fee such as that he would want a ‘player who’s going to boss a game’.

Moreover, he also questioned Havertz’s contributions to Arsenal’s general play, accusing him of making it ‘harder for his teammates to find space’.

Instead, he feels that Mikel Arteta should consider scrapping him from his first-team plans and choose to field players such as Emile Smith Rowe and Leandro Trossard instead.

What did Gabby Agbonlahor say regarding Kai Havertz?

When asked on who he thought the worst signing of the window was, Agbonlahor said: “The worst? Where do you start? The thing for me I’m going to choose this player [Havertz] as last season he was poor.

“Our friend Ally McCoist, I think he’s got a crush on him because he always says he’s a good player. For me, £65 million I want a player who’s going to boss a game. I want a player who’s going to look like scoring goals.

“When I watch him at Arsenal [Chelsea] last season he gets in people’s way. He literally makes it harder for his teammates to find space. He isn’t quick, not a prolific finisher and he’s not really great at getting on the ball and turning.

“So, for me if I’m [Emile] Smith Rowe, if I’m other players in that Arsenal side, [Leandro] Trossard. I’m thinking, gaffer, come on, I know you paid £65m for him but you’ve got to give me a chance now. So, I think Havertz will be one of the flops this season.”

Will Kai Havertz be a flop at Arsenal?

So far, Havertz has not set the world on fire at the Emirates Stadium – but in that same vein, it would be harsh to judge him after just two games.

He has yet to score a goal or register an assist as of yet, but his quality has shone through at times – he’s excellent at creating chances for his teammates in the final third of the pitch.

The jury is still out on Havertz – he has shown flashes of incredible ability in the past, but we have yet to see the best of him in Arsenal shirt.
