Journalist Reveals Arsenal’s Next Signing Could Be Announced As Early As Today

Arsenal are hoping to confirm the signing of Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson this afternoon, according to ESPN, and the site’s’ Gunners correspondent Charles Watts is predicting the Icelandic international could even be in goal when the London club take on Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

It is believed that Runarsson has been training at London Colney over the weekend in anticipation of his £1m move being finalised so there is every chance that the 25-year-old could start at the King Power Stadium.

Keepers don’t generally need much time to settle in and, with manager Mikel Arteta expected to rest a number of key players for the cup tie, leaving out number one Bernd Leno for the new signing is certainly very possible.

Runarsson has been recommended to Arteta by goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana who worked with the shot-stopper during his time at Danish club FC Nordsjaelland.
