Journalist Reveals Agents Of 88.5M Rated French Ace Are ‘In Contact’ With Arsenal Ahead Of Summer Move

The representatives of Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby are “in contact” with Arsenal, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

Although a summer switch is far from certain at this stage, Falk says that the Gunners remain keen on securing the France international’s signature:

“Arsenal still have an interest in Diaby. The Bayer Leverkusen star’s agents are in contact with the club.”

Diaby has been heavily linked with both Arsenal and Newcastle over the past twelve to fifteen months but the player’s price tag has put off the two teams from making an offer until now.

It is believed that Leverkusen want around €100m (£88.5m) for the 23-year-old, with the total value of the deal being similar to the amount they received from Chelsea for Kai Havertz in 2020.

Whether the Gunners are prepared to fork out that much on Diaby, we shall have to wait and see. The Frenchman’s form this season has been decent (11 goals and 6 assists in 32 matches) but you do wonder whether he is worth breaking the club’s transfer record for.
