Journalist Provides Key Update On Arteta’s Future Amid Claims That Serie A Manager Is Being Targeted

Mikel Arteta’s job is “safe” according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones. It was claimed in Italy last week that Roma boss Paulo Fonseca had been added to a shortlist of candidates, with Arsenal considering a change of manager.

However, current owners KSE believe that Arteta is still the right man to take the club forward, despite a disappointing league campaign that sees the team sit in ninth place with only four games remaining in the season.

It is thought that Arteta may even be given additional funds to finance a rebuild of the squad over the summer, with Stan Kroenke expected to reaffirm his commitment to the club, as he attempts to resist a takeover bid from Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek.

Other reports have suggested that the Gunners have eyes on no less than nine targets ahead of the summer transfer window, but it remains to be seen what sort of transfer budget the manager will be given to make the changes he needs.
