Arsenal centre-back William Saliba could still re-join Marseille on loan for a second successive season, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.
The Gunners are keen to have the France international as part of their first-team plans for the start of the campaign but, if he doesn’t begin the season as a regular starter, the defender may request a move back to France:
Arsenal plan for William Saliba stay and new contract offer.
Player has World Cup worries, but is ready to give it a go. Start of the season will be key.@90min_Football

As Bailey mentions, Saliba is concerned about making the France squad for the World Cup in November and, if he is sitting on the bench, it could jeopardise his chances of flying out to Qatar.
With the 21-year-old having two years left on his contract at the Emirates, Arsenal will request that he signs an extension, whether he stays in London or leaves for a fourth loan spell away from the club.
What’s certain is that, if manager Mikel Arteta doesn’t start Saliba in the first Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace on August 5th, it will lead to more questions about the player’s future.
