Jose Mourinho Reveals Tammy Abraham’s Transfer Stance Amid Reports Of Arsenal Summer Bid

Roma manager Jose Mourinho believes Tammy Abraham is currently not interested in making the move back to the Premier League.

Arsenal were linked with a £50m bid for the England international last month but, while Mourinho says he would sanction the player’s return to the UK in a heartbeat, he claims the player is happy with his new life in Italy:

“If he wants to go back to England – I don’t think he wants now – but if he wants to go back to England he just needs to click his fingers. I’m so happy for him, back to the national team, loved in Rome. I don’t want to say he’s proven everybody wrong, because I think everyone knows that he’s a good player.”

The Gunners tried to sign Abraham before he made the switch to Roma from Chelsea last summer, so it would not be surprising if Mikel Arteta’s side did make another bid for the 24-year-old.

However, it does appear that the London club are focused on other transfer targets at the moment. Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus looks to be one of Arsenal’s top priorities, while the likes of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez are also being looked at.

With some reports in the Italian media suggesting that Roma could hold out for around €80m (£68.4m) to sell Abraham, the Gunners may feel that the deal isn’t financially viable anyway.
