Takehiro Tomiyasu was caught out for Nathan Ake’s goal against City, with Jack Grealish using his trickery to get the better of the defender so he could provide the assist.
While Tomiyasu is usually solid defensively, his performance at the Etihad will cement Ben White’s position as first choice at right-back.
Not only can the 25-year-old be relied upon to provide cover in defence, but he is well capable of providing overlaps for Bukayo Saka.
