Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson has lavished praise on Arsenal target Jorrel Hato.
The 17-year-old is already a regular starter for his club, with the Gunners having taken a keen interest in his development and, speaking to Ajax’s official website, Henderson said he can’t believe how mature the defender is despite still being so young:
“It’s crazy how young he is, but obviously how mature he looks when he’s on the pitch and also off the pitch.”
“He’s a very mature person, works hard, fantastic player, and yeah, he has a bright future ahead of him, I’m sure. I think he just needs to continue to do what he’s he’s been doing.”
Will Arsenal make a bid for Hato this summer?
It does look as though the Gunners will be in the market for another left-sided centre-back at the end of the season.
The Evening Standard have recently reported that Mikel Arteta’s side are “open” to selling Jakub Kiwor, and the Poland international’s departure would pave the way for Hato’s arrival.
AC Milan and other Italian clubs are said to be keen on recruiting Kiwior, although they are unlikely to match the £21m that Arsenal paid for the player just over a year ago.
What do fans need to know about Hato?
Despite being so young, the centre-half has already made 44 first-team appearances for Ajax, as well as being capped at senior level by the Netherlands.
Hato’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season and that means he could well be on the market for a reasonable price when the next transfer window opens.
Of course, the young Dutchman’s availability means there will be plenty of other clubs looking to sign the player.
