Jenkinson Set To Leave Emirates After 19 Year Old Calum Chambers Joins The Team

As promised, Arsenal are doing quite a lot of shopping this summer. Even though few expected it, the Gunners have made their 4th transfer so far, with youngster Calum Chambers coming in as a back-up for Debuchy. After parting ways with players like Bendtner, Fabianski and Ju Young Park, it is time for Jenkinson to exit the Emirates and join one of three teams. Despite refusing a first bid from Hull City, Wenger looks keen on letting the right-back go for the right price. After signing youngster Calum Chambers, Jenkinson has become Arsenal’s third choice for a spot on the right side of the defense.

The 22 year old, despite being fond of London, will have to choose either Sunderland or Swansea which both entered the race for the right-back. West Ham were also linked to the young defender but no offer has come Arsenal’s way. According to Metro, Wenger is now waiting for Hull to up their offer which is £2million short of what he thinks is the right price for Jenkinson. If Swansea match the £5million The Gunners requested, the defender will leave immediately considering the beginning of the Premier League season is just around the corner.

Even though at first Hull were looking for a loan deal, Wenger led them to believe that a permanent deal is not off the table. With that in mind, The Tigers will probably push for Jenkinson’s transfer who despite failing to impress while at the Emirates, will probably do a great job performing for the FA Cup runners up.
