Jackson Martinez Back On Wenger’s Transfer Wish-List

Jackson Martinez Back On Wenger’s Transfer Wish-List

Arsenal made their intentions to try and sign Real’s Alvaro Morata clear. Loaning him from the Spanish side looks like the perfect solution for Wenger who just lost Walcott and Bendtner to injuries.

Morata would definitely help especially with the Gunners in desperate need of some serious fire power. Giroud who is currently Arsenal’s only actual centre forward, looks fatigued due to being used in almost all of Arsenal’s games.

According to the Daily Mail, Jackson Martinez, who has a £33.2million release clause, would make a great long term solution for Wenger who has been looking to improve on his team’s scoring rate since the summer. The downside is, transfers as big as this one don’t usually take place during the winter.

The 27 year old Colombian has already scored 14 times this season and it is hard to believe Porto who are currently second in the Portuguese League will let him leave anytime soon.

Atletico’s Diego Costa has a similar situation to that of Martinez. Despite having an approachable release-cause, it is also hard to believe he will leave Spain especially with his club making it to the next stages of the Champions League.

If all fails, Arsenal could direct their attention towards Rubin Kazan’s Salomon Rondon, who is also targeted by Tottenham or Lille’s Salomon Kalou who was on Wenger’s transfer wish-list a while back. Hopefully for the Gunners, at least one of these five names will make it to the Emirates before the end of the transfer period.
