“It’s True…” Agent Confirms Arsenal Linked Italian International Has Had Recent Offers From The Premier League

Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli did receive approaches “from England” in the summer transfer window, his agent Stefano Castelnuovo has confirmed.

Arsenal lost out to Juve when Locatelli opted to join the Bianconeri in August last year, but a difficult first season with the Old Lady had prompted talk that he could leave Turin, and Castelnuovo has revealed there was interest from unnamed Premier League teams:

“It’s true that there were some good opportunities from England last summer, but the player has a solid bond with Juventus and never thought about leaving.”

Locatelli has now managed to establish himself as a regular starter in Max Allegri’s team over the past couple of months, which means any potential move to the Emirates can now be ruled out.

However, the Gunners are expected to be in the market for a central midfielder when the window reopens in January. At the moment, it appears that an approach for Palmeiras’ Danilo is being seriously considered.

The Brazilian has spoken out in recent days to say he is “ready” to play in any league, which has been interpreted to mean that he would be open to leaving Palmeiras. We shall have to wait and see if a formal bid is made.
