It’s Time To Start The Long Overdue Debate On Referees

In most areas of life there is debate – we debate everything from the introduction of new one way traffic systems in our home town to how people with dyslexia should be taught in our schools.

In football we debate everything from whether Pepe should be taught to be more of a two footed player (that was the opinion of the guy next to me for the Leeds game) or whether we should make the draw for the fourth round of the cup before the last 3rd round game is played.

But there’s one thing that is missing in all this – and it is incredibly vital: the referees.

Why don’t we talk about the way refereeing is organised, and whether referees are doing their job properly as Tony Attwood explains below?

Is “Reffymandering” the way of the future? Who knows but hopefully this will not be the case but then again given the way of the world these days anything is possible.
