In recent news Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic has been heavily linked with Arsenal. It seems like the Gunners are not regarded as the perfect destination for players who want to step up to the next level. According to Jovetic’s team mate and ex Bayern Munich striker, Luca Toni, the young Serbian should direct his attention towards other teams that are capable of winning big trophies.

“I tell him to think carefully before leaving Florence, as there is an important project here.”

“If he has to leave, then make it for a real top club. Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United fit that bill, but Arsenal are not better than Fiorentina”, said Toni when speaking to SkySports.com.

It seems that their long trophy-less streak has left some serious marks image wise. Rumors say that Wenger is willing to use a big part of the teams’ new earned sponsorship deal to sign players such as Villa, Gotze, Jovetic or Cavani. It is still not clear about how Arsenal’s managerial team will handle the new season with many factors involved in their decision making. Wenger has only one year left of contract and the Gunners’ spot in next year’s Champions League is not yet secured. These issues contribute to all major players’ indecision to move to Emirates Stadium.

It remains to be seen if Jovetic will move to England and more specifically Arsenal but he clearly is a talent who will be in demand for seasons to come.
