Arsenal made an offer of between €37m (£31m) and €38m (£32m) for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, according to Italian journalist Francesco Romano.
The editor of website Le Bombe Di Vlad was speaking on Italian radio when he confirmed that the Serie A side had received a bid from the Gunners:
“In the last few hours, I inquired about the Milik situation, for which the Neapolitans would have an Arsenal offer of about 37-38 million. A discussion that Napoli [have] postponed until the summer. In any case, I believe that the future of the Pole is far away [from Naples].”
Milik has been in good form this season, having scored 10 goals in 16 appearances but he has had his issues with injuries, and it appears Napoli are ready to cash in on the player.
It would be a surprise if Arsenal were actively looking for another forward, considering they are already very strong in that area of the pitch, but with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract expiring in under 18 months time, they may be weighing up potential replacements.
It appears Milik could well leave Napoli at the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners do revive their interest in the Polish international.
