The 29-year-old was very clinical for Arsenal’s equalising goal and essentially took the tie away from Valencia.
Aubmameyang then showed a poacher’s instinct for his second, while his third demonstrated a man brimming with confidence, firing into the roof of the net to seal victory.
Manager Unai Emery opted against starting too defensively and the move paid off. The threat that both Aubameyang and his strike partner Alexandre Lacazette posed to the opposition meant Arsenal were always likely to score on the night.
The emphatic nature of the win was a surprise, but they can certainly take heart from the performance heading into the final against Chelsea.
