‘It Is No Mystery…’ Report Confirms Arsenal Are Serious About Reigniting Interest In 35M Italian International

Arsenal are expected to make a “new attempt” to sign Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli in January or at the end of the season, according to Calciomercato.com.

It was reported last week that the Gunners had revived their interest in the Italian international, having previously failed to lure him to the Emirates before he made the €40m (£35m) switch to Juve last year.

Calciomercato claim that Locatelli is not deemed to be “indispensable” by the Serie A club, with manager Max Allegri having revealed his preferred midfield trio is Paul Pogba, Leandro Paredes and Adrien Rabiot.

With Pogba being injured, it has allowed Locatelli more game time, but his long-term future at the club is up in the air. Juventus need to raise funds through sales in order to service debts but things could change if Allegri is sacked as a new manager may see the midfielder as a key player.

What isn’t uncertain, though, is Arsenal’s interest in Locatelli. Calciomercato say “it is no mystery” that Mikel Arteta’s side are keen on signing the 24-year-old so we shall see if an official bid is made in the New Year.
