Stade de Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot has suggested that defender Axel Disasi’s likeliest destination is the Premier League.
Multiple reports have stated that Arsenal are monitoring the 22-year-old, with some even claiming that the Gunners have actually made formal contact with Reims to register their interest in the centre-back.
There are also teams in Spain that are said to be interested in Disasi but when asked about a possible move to La Liga, Caillot hinted that a switch to England was a greater possibility:
“At the moment that I am speaking with you, he has little chance of going to Spain. We have more interesting offers from other leagues, I suggest that you read the foreign press and specifically the English (press).”
Disasi was part of a Reims defence that conceded just 21 goals in 28 games this campaign; the best record in Ligue One. The Frenchman is also believed to be available for a reasonable price.
He could be sold for just €15m (£13m), which is a lot less than the likes of RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano (£53m) and Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Nunez (£26.5m) who the Gunners are also said to be tracking.
