Injury Misery Deepens For Wenger And Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey was receiving treatment for a thigh injury suffered in December, and was originally expected to be back within a fortnight’s time. However, it looks like his comeback will be pushed back by over a month now as he has suffered another injury to the same thigh. This news filtered out after Arsenal’s pulsating 2-2 draw against Southampton, which saw them surrender the lead to Manchester City in the league table.

The Welshman has risen to prominence this season and has been one of the most influential players on the pitch for the Gunners. His performances have been inspiring and have delivered an impressive goal and assist output. However, Yahoo! Eurosport report that it looks like he will be on the treatment table for a while now following an announcement from Wenger before Deadline Day where he said, “Aaron Ramsey will be out for four to six weeks. I count six weeks. We are still trying to bring one body in because of Ramsey’s setback and Flamini’s suspension.”

On Transfer Deadline Day, Arsenal brought in Swedish international Kim Kalstrom on loan. Do you feel that the arrival of the midfielder could prove to be a suitable stop gap replacement during Ramsey’s absence?
