It’s fair to say that Arsenal’s move for Chelsea’s Jorginho has caused a lot of debate among supporters.
When news about the Gunners’ interest in the Italian international first broke, many were underwhelmed by the prospect of the midfielder making the switch to the Emirates.
Now the dust has settled, though, some fans on Twitter are warming to the idea, although many are still questioning the sort of impact that Jorginho will have on the team:
I'm speechless tbh

Very underwhelming. Going from Caicedo to Jorginho. However, Mikel and the board have got us to where we are right now so will trust them with whatever they do.

Not a fan but can make peace with it , short term deal , Arteta and Pep have been long time admirers so will see how it goes .

Pretty happy with it. Smart signing!

He's only going to stay till Summer. We resell him afterwards. But I'm so disappointed in our board for not taking up the horns to get Caicedo deal done. 💔

It's a brilliant short-term fix. Technically and tactically of the highest quality. Not someone you build your team around at this age – but knows what it takes to win. Maturity. Depth. Great idea. One year left on his Chelsea deal. Also, doesn't preclude Rice or Ceicedo later.

Manager Mikel Arteta is believed to be the one who pushed the club into making an approach for the 31-year-old and, considering his excellent track record for picking out transfer targets, plenty will trust his judgement.
After being prepared to pay a club record fee for Moises Caicedo, who is a much more dynamic and energetic player than Jorginho, some fans are justified in wondering whether the club have made the right decision to purchase the Chelsea star.
