Former Ajax head coach Aad de Mos believes Erik ten Hag’s style of play would make him a good fit for a club like Arsenal
Ten Hag has been heavily linked with Manchester United in recent weeks and some have tipped the Dutchman to replace Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford on a permanent basis in the summer. However, de Mos claims there are four other teams that would be better suited:
“It has to be purely attacking anyway, so the DNA of Ajax has to be in it. I think Borussia Dortmund is the ideal option for him. If Nagelsmann leaves, then it’s Bayern Munich. At FC Barcelona, Xavi is only just starting, Arsenal, if Arteta doesn’t do well…”
Unsurprisingly, this got a lot of fans talking on Twitter, with many agreeing that ten Hag would be the perfect replacement for Mikel Arteta if the Spaniard is sacked:
I'll take him now

Ten Haag's and Arteta's contracts both up at the end of next season….

We’ve already missed out on Pep, Klopp, Conte, Tuchel, etc. We’d be absolutely stupid to miss out on Ten Haag. We need a manager that can compete with the level of the other big 6 club’s managers in order to keep up with them.

Arsenal are not smart enough to do this. There’s no point in getting our hopes up

Ten Hag has had a lot of success since joining Ajax in December 2017, winning two Eredivisie titles, two Dutch Cups and a Super Cup. He has also reached a Champions League semi-final and, this season, his side have progressed from their group with a 100% record.
Whether he would be interested in taking over at the Emirates, though, is another matter. United are still the big favourites for his signature currently.
