Ian Wright Praises “Invaluable” Arsenal Star Who Has Looked The Part From His Very “First Game”

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hailed the impact of Leandro Trossard since his arrival at the club in January.

The Belgian international was pivotal to the Gunners’ victory against Fulham on Sunday, providing assists for all three goals, and Wright says the winger has looked the part from the get-go:

“He’s played against the players, he knows exactly what is needed from him. So to get a signing like that who can come in and is up to speed is invaluable to us. He’s shown from the first game to now he’s shown that he’s an unbelievable addition to this squad.”

Everyone knows that Trossard was not Arsenal’s first-choice target. In fact, if we go back to last summer, he wasn’t even second choice. The Gunners pursued Raphinha before then starting their months-long pursuit of Mykhailo Mudryk.

Neither deal worked out, with the former joining Barcelona and the latter moving to Chelsea, but it appears Mikel Arteta’s side have fallen on their feet with Trossard.

The 28-year-old only cost the London club a total of £27m, and he has already racked up six goal contributions in 10 appearances. That’s even more impressive when you consider the fact he has only started five of those matches.
