Arsenal Vs Newcastle United Team News, Betting Odds And Where To Watch

Arsenal turn their attention away from the Premier League this week as they face a game against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup.

Mikel Arteta‘s side have some work to do, as they lost 2-0 in the first leg against the Magpies at the Emirates in January.

They will head to St James’ Park in need of a quick start, and a good performance, much like in their last game which was a 5-1 win against Manchester City.

Goals came from Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri, in what was Arsenal’s fourth 5-goal game this season.

It left them second in the Premier League table, and six points behind Liverpool, who feature in the other semi-final against Tottenham on Thursday.

Arsenal will be without Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu in the game as they are all dealing with injury problems.

They face a Newcastle side, who have lost two of their last three games, and are searching for their first piece of silverware since 1955. Click here to see Arsenal’s predicted XI for the game.

Arsenal cautiously picked to win second leg

The Gunners have been in fantastic form recently, winning five of their last six games in all competitions. They will be feeling confident ahead of their trip to Tyneside.

According to Oddschecker, Arsenal are backed at odds of 6/5 to win, giving them a 45.5% chance of victory. Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are backed to win the second leg at 23/10 (30.3%).

A draw is backed at odds of 11/4 (26.7%). We predict a 2-0 win for Arsenal, taking the game to a penalty shootout – at that point, it is anybody’s guess as to who will win.
