Everton, Southampton and Bournemouth are all keen to land out-of-favour Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, according to reports. 

Welbeck has been told by Gunners boss Unai Emery that he is surplus to requirements The Emirates this season, with the Spaniard already having both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at his first choice strikers.


And Arsenal are now willing to listen to offers for the England international as they look to shed the wage bill after a busy summer in which they have signed five new players.

The Gunners have already surpassed the £50 million transfer budget set by the club’s owners, and now need to off-load players before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Welbeck joined Arsenal for £16 million in 2014 and has only one year remaining on his contract in North London, meaning they could be willing to take a cut-price for the striker in order to avoid losing him on a free next year.

The 27-year-old, who featured who just 11 minutes at this summer’s World Cup, has been linked with a move to Turkey, however is understood to prefer to remain in England.

Everton want Welbeck to re-unite with Theo Walcott who joined the Toffees in January from Arsenal, while Southampton and Bournemouth are on the hunt for new striker’s following a frustrating last season in front of goal for both clubs and teams like Newcastle or even West Ham may have an interest.

Welbeck managed ten goals in 43 appearances last season as Arsenal finished sixth in the Premier League and reached the Europa League final.
