‘His Fitness Levels Are Not Normal’ – Wilshere On Super Fit Ramsey

The Welsh National Team Captain, Aaron Ramsey is currently having the time of his life on the pitch, with him finding the back of the net on 8 occasions in as many games. He has been firing on all cylinders and his goals have helped Arsenal open up a 2-point lead at the summit of the league table. The Gunners are also the current leaders in their group of the UEFA Champions League. These are happy times at the North London club and it has largely been down to the rich vein of form for Ramsey, who has been absolutely unplayable of late.

The 22-year old has come a long way since that horrifying leg break he suffered against Stoke City back in 2010. Ramsey was finding his feet back then and was turning eyeballs with his performances as a youngster, as he was seen as a future star before the injury abruptly halted his early career progress and development.

He was out of action for over a year and returned in 2011. He has since played 2 seasons, however he understandably struggled to regain the form he had prior to the injury. Even in 2012 he was visibly struggling to find himself on the pitch; so much so that a section of the Arsenal supporters were starting to turn on him and criticize his performances.

However, Ramsey has managed to win them back with his strong performances this season. Much has been down to his ‘abnormal’ fitness levels, according to his midfield team-mate Jack Wilshere. The Englishman himself suffered a long-term injury back in 2011 and despite returning at the end of 2012, he is still short of reaching 100%.

Metro report Wilshere acknowledging that Ramsey’s incredible fitness levels have helped him elevate his game to a whole new level this season. He said, “His fitness levels are not normal,”

“He’s naturally so fit he can score at any time in the game. You can see that.”

“He’s pushing on in the 94th minute. Not many players can do that.”

“He’s got his confidence back, which is nice to see. If he carries on playing the way he is and working hard, he can improve further.”

Arsenal fans are currently loving their young midfielder’s performances this season. Do you see him continuing to bang in the goals?
