Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was certainly not the only player who played poorly in the defeat to Wolves last night but the striker’s lack of goals is now becoming a serious concern for supporters.
The 31-year-old barely touched the ball in the 2-1 loss yesterday and looks very short of confidence even when he has possession. Fans on Twitter have been debating why the striker’s form has dipped so sharply:
He's gone missing now..

Out of form or just disinterested?

I rather bring Chamakh back than play Aubameyang again. Ozil has better work rate than that guy.

Playing like he's being forced to

Auba’s head isn’t in it. Honestly, if we aren’t fighting for a top 4, I’d sell him in January and reinvest the money in someone younger.

He's not into it.

There’s no doubt that Aubameyang’s confidence has taken a knock, especially as he has only scored one penalty in the league since the opening day of the season.
Even so, his work rate and general demeanour recently have also been concerning, with some having suggested that his new contract may have adversely affected his motivation.
It is probably a combination of factors and with the Gunners not creating a lot of chances, it is not surprising that Aubameyang is not getting on the scoresheet.
