“He Would Be More Than Happy To Play For Arsenal” Sky Sports Journalist Makes Big Claim About PSG Star

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is an Arsenal fan and would be very interested in a switch to the Emirates, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The journalist, who admittedly is not the most reliable, says that the Dutchman is open to making the move to the Gunners, although he is not sure whether it could happen during the January transfer window:

“About Arsenal and Gini Wijnaldum, I’ve been told Arsenal are one of his favourite clubs – when he was growing up, he was an Arsenal supporter. I think he would be more than happy to play for Arsenal one day. I’m not saying it’s going to happen this month. But, they are definitely a club who are close to his heart.”

Wijnaldum has only been at PSG for six months after joining them on a free transfer from Liverpool, but he has struggled for game time in France, and he is believed to be keen on leaving the Parc des Princes.

Arsenal are actually looking to sign a midfielder, with manager Mikel Arteta having commented on the club’s lack of options in the middle of the park. However, Wijnaldum is not among the list of targets.

Currently, it appears Juventus’s Arthur is the club’s priority, while the likes of Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes and Palmeiras’ Danilo have also been linked.
