Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira played a key role in the 2-0 victory over Wolves at the weekend, providing the assist for Martin Odegaard’s opener.
The Portuguese Under 21 international started on the bench at Molineux but came on early in the game to replace the unwell Granit Xhaka.
Vieira certainly grabbed his chance to make an impression after having limited starts in the league since his €40m move from Porto in the summer, and the majority of fans on Twitter are hopeful that he will have a bigger impact after the World Cup:
He will be incredible for us at the second half of the season after world cup

🤞🏾Like most players. He's not gonna get the Prem pace straight away, but looking promising.

The guy is rookie with good ball knowledge. He needs to learn many things and Arteta will make him a top playmaker for sure.. Guy sleeps to much on the pitch

He doesn’t get involved in play enough, but when he does no one doubts his quality

He will benefit greatly from the break and working with MA in training.Needs to become more active in making runs, being available for passes and making quicker and more decisive decisions on the ball. His talents and skills are palpable, he will explode, the only question is when

After some eye-catching early displays, Vieira had gone off the boil in recent weeks, with his performances in the Europa League being rather disappointing. However, he looked pretty sharp against Wolves and he seemed quite comfortable playing in Xhaka’s position.
Vieira will, though, need to show more than a one-off cameo display if he wants to establish himself as a regular starter in the coming months.
