Arsenal are interested in signing Athletic Bilbao centre-back Unai Nunez, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper reports that Everton are also keen on the 22-year-old.
The defender has already been capped by Spain at senior level, having made his debut as a substitute in the 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands in the Euro 2020 qualifier last month.
Supporters on Twitter are sceptical about the Gunners’ interest in Nunez with many pointing out he has the same first name as manager Unai Emery:
He is really good on Football manager!

The centre-half reportedly has a £30m release clause in his contract, which isn’t a great amount in the current transfer market. It must be said, though, that he isn’t a regular starter for his club at the moment.
Nunez was an unused substitute in Bilbao’s last two league games against Valencia and Celta Vigo. He is battling Inigo Martinez and Yeray Alvarez for a place in the starting eleven.
