Arsenal are in pole position to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to reports in the English media.
Newcastle are believed to be keen on bringing the Netherlands international back to St James’ Park but the player is said to prefer a move to the Emirates.
With the Gunners in need of a new midfielder, a lot of fans on Twitter would back the signing of Wijnaldum, although there are some who think the former Liverpool player is past his best:

If it’s a loan deal then Arsenal don’t really have much to lose by bringing in the 31-year-old but it remains to be seen if the London club will make an attempt to sign the PSG star.
At the moment, it appears as though the Gunners are still looking to sign Arthur from Juventus but the Bianconeri’s reluctance to loan out the Brazilian without signing a replacement has caused some issues.
