Gunners target to wait until after World Cup to decide future

Arsenal goalkeeping target Jasper Cillessen has admitted he would be open to a move to the Premier League, but only if Barcelona told him they no longer want him at the Camp Nou.

The 29-year-old is a big target of both Arsenal and Liverpool, something he says he is aware of, but the Dutchman insists he will make a decision on his future once the World Cup is over and Barcelona return to pre-season training on July 16th.

Cillessen won’t be at the World Cup this year as the Netherlands shockingly failed to qualify, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get involved, if you like a bet make sure you head over to https://bettingapps.org/ for the latest World Cup odds.

Cillessen made just 11 appearances for Barcelona last season, nine of which came in the Copa del Rey, so it is understandable why a goalkeeper of his calibre would want more regular first team action.

However, the former Ajax stopper insists he will only leave if Barcelona want him to do so.

“I think that I played well in the matches I had in the Copa del Rey,” Cillessen told Fox Sports.

“I need to wait patiently. The only thing I know is that Barcelona won’t sell me.

“Arsenal and Liverpool aren’t bad clubs but if Barcelona say, ‘We love you’, then I’ll accept their decision and continue there.

“I’ll wait until we return on the 16th July to see what they’ve decided.

“I don’t know anything. If the club wants to keep me, I’ll accept that. I signed a five-year deal with them.”
