Gunners given boost in pursuit of wantaway Real Madrid star

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos after the midfielder revealed he wants to leave the club this summer.

Ceballos joined Los Blancos last summer from Real Betis for a fee of around €18 million, but has since struggled to establish himself at the Bernabeu.

The Spain international has made only two starts in La Liga this season, and now wants to leave Madrid in search of more regular first team football.

Spanish media outlet Diario Gol report Ceballas has made it clear to Real Madrid officials that he has no intention of remaining at the Santiago Bernabeu due to his current lack of game time.

The 21-year-old however is unlikely to be short of options should be leave the Spanish capital this summer.

Arsenal are understood to be keen to land the wantaway midfielder as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his options in the centre of the park after a disappointing season in North London.

Ceballos is seen as a replacement for the potentially outbound duo Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey, who have been linked with moves to Real Betis and Chelsea.

Should the Gunners move for Ceballos however, they are likely to face competition from Liverpool, who are also interested in bringing the Madrid playmaker to England.
