Gremio Vice President Provides Latest Update On Arsenal’s Move For Everton

Gremio vice president Duda Kroeff has revealed that they have yet to receive a formal bid for winger Everton.

Reports in Brazil earlier this week had suggested that Arsenal had sent out a medical team ahead of a prospective move. However, speaking to UOL Esporte, Kroeff has said president Romildo Bolzan had told the directors no offers were currently on the table:

“He’s been talking about Everton and his manager, he’s been talking about it, we know it’s the way it is, the guys talk to the player first, there’s nothing, we have nothing, but Everton is always there. This boy is worth gold.”

Kroeff did say, though, that they’ve received enquiries for Everton, but he is still available for selection for this weekend’s match against Internacional.

UOL Esporte report that Gremio want to sell the Brazilian international for €40m (£36m) and would prefer to sell to an English club as they know that Premier League teams will meet their demands.

The website reports that Arsenal are one of the teams interested in Everton, but there also other clubs who have asked about the player.

UOL believe the Gunners do have an advantage, mainly due to the appointment of Edu as the club’s technical director.
